Five Lost Paradise in Vietnam

Phu Quoc, Nha Trang, Da Nang, Phan Thiet – Mui Ne beach – they are all well known by tourist by their beauty. But Vietnam is a country with over 3,000km of coastal, and for sure there are many other captivating beaches that are still remain undiscovered by international tourists. Let’s name some popular beaches among Vietnamese, but still unknown by foreigner, from north to south:

  1. Co To island – Quang Ninh province

Co To island, being in the same province Quang Ninh, is one of the best beach in the northern during summer. With a white-sand beach, in uncontaminated emerald water and small waves, every year Co To island attracts millions of local tourists to enjoy their holiday, also thanks to a low expense.  From Hanoi, you can travel by car to Cua Ong boat pier (about 5 hours) to take a local speedboat to Co To island (about 22km from land – 3 hours) or simply hire a private boat from Halong. Due to the lack of qualified accommodation facilities, the island is not very famous among international tourist. However, in the recent years, thanks to the opening of Co To Eco Lodge with its stunning bungalows sea front, the island became more friendly.

  1. Nhat Le beach – Quang Binh province

Another uncontaminated beach, located in the north-central of Vietnam, Nhat Le beach – in Dong Hoi city will be soon famous, thanks to the new Dong Hoi airport. Very beautiful during summer, Nhat Le has a long sandy beach and clear water with small waves. Only 50km from Dong Hoi, you can travel to the Phong Nha – Ke Bang national park for a day trip to Phong Nha o Thien Duong cave. The only thing that prevents tourists is the lack of investment, and unqualified hotels that served mostly for Vietnamese and backpackers. There are many ways to reach to Dong Hoi: by night train from Hanoi, by car from Hue or by air.

  1. Ly Son island – Quang Ngai province

Distance about 25km from land, Ly Son Island is another one of trending destinations for local tourist. Being truly a hide-away, Ly Son greets you with blue sky, sandy beaches and a stunning view from mountain and a great menu of seafood with low cost. The main economy here is fishing and garlic farming. However, the island is fairly hard to reach: the only mean to the island is speedboat from Sa Ky pier (Quang Ngai province) – which is about 3,5 hours from Da Nang.

  1. Ho Tram – Long Hai beach – Ba Ria – Vung Tau province

Vung Tau is not a strange destination, to Vietnamese and also to some foreigners who live in Vietnam. It’s only 90km from Ho Chi Minh city, which takes only about 2 hours from the city. However, Ho Tram – Long Hai is yet still unlisted in the tourist map of Vietnam, without qualified hotel. Now, with the new opening of some new 4-5 stars hotels, they have another choice for short stays in a quiet place.

  1. Nam Du islands – Kien Giang province

Only few kilometers from Phu Quoc island, Nam Du yet still unknown, due to many things: hard to reach, undiscovered, with few beautiful beach, and, also, lack of infrastructure. The islands are an ideal destination for backpackers, or adventurer, or tourists who hungry for a unique trip. Nam Du is also ideal for 3 days – 2 nights trip, which offers the possibility for a nice diving and bathing in a wonderful sandy beach without people.
